First Meeting
We start by understanding what brought you to therapy and what you’re hoping to get out of it. No pressure to share everything immediately – we go at whatever pace feels right.
Sometimes you need space to figure things out without considering how it affects anyone else.
Individual therapy gives you that space – a confidential hour each week focused entirely on what you’re dealing with.
At Lebell Counselling & Psychology, we work with people facing anxiety, depression, life transitions, and those simply wanting to understand themselves better.

Racing thoughts, constant worry, panic attacks, or that feeling like something bad is about to happen. Counselling for anxiety focuses on practical techniques that actually work in real situations.
When everything feels heavy and nothing seems interesting anymore. Individual therapy helps you understand what’s happening and develop strategies that fit your specific situation.
Job loss, divorce, moving, empty nest, retirement – life transitions hit everyone differently. Having a neutral person to process these changes with makes them more manageable.
You don’t need to be in crisis to benefit from therapy. Many people use individual counselling to understand their patterns better, improve relationships, or figure out what they actually want from life.
Individual sessions are entirely about you. No need to consider someone else’s feelings or manage group dynamics. Your Regina therapist focuses completely on understanding your perspective and helping you work through whatever you’re facing.
We don’t follow scripts. Different people respond to different approaches, so we adjust based on what works for you.
Practical approach that looks at how thoughts, feelings, and behaviors connect. Useful for anxiety, depression, and changing unhelpful patterns.
Helps you notice what’s happening in the moment without getting overwhelmed by it. Particularly helpful for anxiety and stress management.
Concentrates on what’s already working in your life and builds from there. Good for people who want to make specific changes quickly.
Focuses on your personal growth and self-understanding. Helpful when you’re trying to figure out who you are or what you want.
Teaches skills for managing intense emotions, tolerating distress, and improving relationships. Particularly helpful for people who experience overwhelming feelings or have difficulty regulating emotions.
When a loved one is struggling with addiction or mental health issues, individual therapy helps you learn healthy ways to support them while protecting your own well-being and setting appropriate boundaries.
We start by understanding what brought you to therapy and what you’re hoping to get out of it. No pressure to share everything immediately – we go at whatever pace feels right.
Most people meet weekly for 50 minutes. Some prefer every other week. We figure out what works for your schedule and budget.
You’re not just left hanging between appointments. We might suggest specific things to try, books to read, or exercises to practice. Nothing overwhelming – just small steps that build on what we talk about.
Every few weeks, we’ll talk about how things are going. Therapy that isn’t helping isn’t worth your time or money.
We also address situations like navigating complex family situations when you’re dealing with a loved one’s addiction or mental health struggles, helping you understand your role and develop healthy boundaries.
Face-to-face appointments in our Regina location. Some people prefer the routine of coming to an office and the clear boundary between therapy time and regular life.
Video sessions available throughout Saskatchewan. Same quality therapy with the convenience of attending from wherever you’re comfortable.
Both options offer the same professional individual therapy services with complete confidentiality.
Depends on what you’re working on. Some people see improvement in a few months, others benefit from longer-term work. We check in regularly about progress and goals.
That’s normal. Your therapist will help guide conversations, especially in early sessions. Many people start with whatever brought them to therapy and discover other things they want to work on.
Yes. Therapy is voluntary. We encourage discussing any concerns about continuing, but you’re never trapped in treatment.

Individual therapy works when you’re ready to invest time in understanding yourself better and developing more effective ways of handling life’s challenges.
